Day 15 – Update

Today I have my nose planted firmly in my laptop and notebook, whilst Darren is blitzing our bathroom; washing all our tiled floors; and making me a bacon sarnie for breakfast. Feeling a tad guilty that I am sat on my arse, I manage to pull myself away from the dining table to toast some crumpets for lunch and make cheesy chips for tea. I will admit this is not my finest culinary achievement, but heck, I am feeling frivolous!

That frivolity soon turns to guilt. We have eaten so much crap today but I am craving something sweet. Cake! Well, the oven is on for the chips anyway…so best not to waste electricity.

Like the rest of the population, we have unwanted fruit rotting away in the fruit bowl.   The remaining strawberries are tasting “a bit fizzy” so they are quickly cast aside. We have a surplus of bananas so I decide to bake my “healthier” version of a banana loaf i.e. substituting the sugar for Stevia. However, halfway through the bake, I realise that I neglected to add the bicarb soda. I whip the oven door open, manoeuvre the loaf towards the edge of the shelf and sprinkle in the mixture, giving it an awkward stir. I won’t lie, in the end it comes out a little deflated, but I am not a dessert snob and thoroughly enjoy the gooey and heavy consistency. So there.

I am a little bit proud of myself though, as I actually manage to JOG tonight. THREE TIMES.
